  Although there is quite a bit of information on the site, here is all you really need to know if you are attending, or considering attending the Dove Hunt:

  2 – pay for the Dove Hunt here
  3 – arrange travel plans here
  4 – bring this stuff
  5 – assist with your assigned meal
  6 – help with the cleanup

About the Dove Hunt

• We have expanded the number of spots and are determining the best way to accommodate additional hunters.  There are several fields available, with differing levels of birds.  We will rotate hunters amonge fields each hunt to give everyone equal opportunities..  There are unlimited slots available for non-hunters.  If you are not a hunter, you should still consider attending the dove hunt and participating in the camaraderie of the Men’s Group, as well as taking in the opportunity to play cards and dominoes, pitch horseshoes, and enjoy the countryside.  The cost this year will be $30.00 for each person, (whether they hunt or not). This is for the 4 meals that will be served for the weekend. When you sign up you will be assigned to a cooking team for one of the meals.
• Anyone wondering about the spirit of the West Texas Holiday need look no further than one of Scott and Kelly's wedding photos.  A great prank pulled by Scott and Kelly on two of the groomsmen - yes, Kelly must be cool to be in on something like this at her own wedding!

• We've had our best response ever this year and I am looking into alternative fields that would allow us to increase the capacity.  The complete list of attendees is here.

ONE FREE SPOT

• We have an offer for One NON-HUNTER who would like to attend the dove hunt for FREE as the dedicated PHOTOGRAPHER for the Dove Hunt.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone (maybe even a high school student) who enjoys coaxing folks to "smile and say whiskey" to attend the Dove Hunt.  Not only will the hunt be FREE, but you will also avoid cooking duty - just snap a few pictures of each cooking team, and then kick back at the card table with a cold beverage.  This is first-come, first-serve - please let me know if you'd like this opportunity.

2011 Dove Hunt Schedule

Travel Schedule - Offer a Ride, Find a Ride

There will be multiple flights of folks trekking out West on I-20 for the Dove Hunt.  The early flight will meet at Calvary at 8:30am on Friday morning, September 9th and leave the church by 9am.  The early flight will enjoy lunch at Ms. Allen's in Sweetwater - a true feast and worth making the effort to leave with this group.

Other groups will leave at various times Friday afternoon and evening and early Saturday morning.  Please post your anticipated travel plans here.
